It is no secret that social media is a fun and engaging way to interact with potential customers, increase brand awareness, and make more sales. Unfortunately, most people are still doing social media the wrong way. You see, social media is all abut being social and inspiring your prospects to take action.  You want your social media followers to share your posts, tell their friends about you, and engage with you on a daily basis.  However, that’s not going to happen if  you don’t express what actions you want your followers to take. This is where call to actions come in.  But, what are call to actions?

A call to action also known as a CTA is a copywriting term that simply means tell your prospect the action you want them to take after reading your content. You probably have seen popular call to actions like:

  • Download Now!
  • Call Today!
  • Buy Now!
  • Click  Here!

When it comes to social media or powerful copy for that matter, you really don’t want to use those “sales-y” call to actions all the time. Instead, you want fun and quick call to actions that inspire your social media following to engage with you instantly. Here are 5 call to actions that you can use today to help you increase engagement, get more social media followers and increase sales!

1. Share if you agree- I love this call to action because it works! I post inspirational and motivational messages on a consistent basis. As you may know, motivational and inspirational messages get the most retweets, shares, and likes than any other piece of content. Most of the time, people agree with a quote, but they never share it!  Instead of hoping they will share your inspirational message, tell them to.  I have been asking my followers to share my content in an authentic and fun way, and it has resulted in more likes, comments, shares, and new social media followers. Try it and see what happens.

2. Tell me now- By now, every social media expert has told you to ask engaging questions. This way you can get your audience interested in your brand. So, you go to your social media page, ask questions, and you hear nothing but crickets!  I can guarantee that you didn’t have a compelling call to action when you asked your question.  All you have to do is ask the question, and place these 3 magic words after the question;  Tell me more! You can even say  post your answer below, and watch how your engagement will increase.

3. Grab your seat- We all know nobody likes to be sold, but everyone likes to buy.  When it comes to social media, your followers don’t want to be bombarded with sales messages all day. However, you still have to make sales, right? Well, there’s a way to make your sales offers without being pushy, sales-y or sleazy.  Forget about saying, buy now or order now.  Get excited about your offer like you can’t wait to buy it. Grab your seat works and so does : “did you grab your seat yet?” So, when you promote your next offer try the grab your seat phrase instead of the traditional buy now/order now.

4. What do you think? It’s no secret that everyone likes to express their opinion. Why not post a question and  ask your following what do they think?  It can be something as simple as having them help you decide between two products to offer.  Or it can be complex as getting their opinion about a pressing topic. However, I always try to stay away from politics and religion. I am not saying that you shouldn’t stay away from those topics— as for me, I don’t really care about those 2 topics.  So, think of some thought provoking questions to get your audience talking!

5. Press Play & Watch Now- This call to action is perfect for video and audio content. You would think that most people will know what to do when you post a video or an audio file, but that is far from the truth.  There are some people that are not tech-savvy at all and they don’t know if that video is a picture or how they can watch it. So, you have to guide them and let them know what to do next.

As you can see there are many call to actions you can use to get your audience taking their first steps to working with you. How about you? Have you ever used powerful call to actions that resulted in more clients, sales, or leads? Post your answer below, I would love to hear from you!!
